I’ve learned so much while writing this book. I’ve learned about writing, about food writing, about directions and clarity. I’ve learned how much time and energy it takes to write a cookbook, especially one of this length. I’ve learned about photography, how to use a camera, how to process photographs, how to keep my thumb out of the shot.
I’ve learned about food styling. About colors, about using a whole layout rather than just one item. And, I’ve learned that some foods, no matter how tasty, will just not make good models.
I’ve learned just how fabulous and wonderful my friends are. I’ve learned how patient and knowledgeable my husband is. I’ve also learned that he really needs steak in his diet.
I’m so glad I had this opportunity. This has been a great learning experience. It’s been a great way to determine what to cook – not that one needs purpose to make something for dinner. And, it’s been quite fulfilling, as a cook (though Dan calls me a chef), and as an artist.
Thank you all for going on this book writing journey with me. Thank you for your support and your help. And, if you came to my house in the last year or so, you were probably forced to be a taste tester, so thanks for that as well!
Thanks as well to all who have viewed the book, to those that said great things about the book, and to those who’ve purchased the book. You support and encouragement is so meaningful to me. 🙂
