Grilled Peaches with Cointreau Caramel Sauce – the perfect early fall dessert that takes almost no time at all to whip up, and your friends will be amazed at how delicious it is!
We made these Grilled Peaches with Cointreau Caramel Sauce the other day when some friends came over for dinner and they brought some peaches.
Dan decided to make some quick caramel sauce to go along with the peaches. And, let me tell you, this sauce is amazing! Quick and easy to make, only three ingredients, and so delicious! These more sauce than you need for this dessert, so we used the leftovers on vanilla ice cream or cake.
My husband grilled them up, and while he did that we all got to sit around chatting. It was a lovely evening full of friends and good food.
There are two kinds of peaches: free stone and cling.
Free stone means that the pit comes out really easily, and these are the peaches you want for this type of grilled dessert.
Cling peaches mean that the peach clings, or holds onto the pit, and the pit is really difficult to remove. Avoid these peaches for this dessert if you can.
What kind of milk should I use?
For the milk in the caramel sauce, I’d recommend using whole milk. I actually used 2% milk for the peaches in the photo and for our dinner that evening. The 2% worked just fine. But, I think the richness of the whole milk would be great in this dessert.
If you aren’t familiar with Cointreau, it’s an orange flavored liquor, and I think it made this dessert extra special.
The slight bitterness of the Cointreau paired with the richness of the caramel sauce over the warm summer peach, oh it was just so yummy! I highly recommend Grilled Peaches with Cointreau Caramel Sauce for dessert! Yum!

I am wiping the drool off my chin!! This sounds fabulous but how do I determine which peach is non cling?
What a wonderfully simple yet elegant and tasty sounding dish, nice job!
Hanady, often the sign right at the store will tell if it’s cling or free stone. Also, I’ve asked my produce guy for help, either he may know, or he may cut open the fruit right there for you before you buy it. If you go to a Farmer’s Market, the farmer will know. If there’s no one at the seller who can help you, I’ve found that most of the white peaches at my grocery store are free stone, while the yellow peaches at my store tend to be cling.
