How Content Creators Can Use Mix to Grow Your Blog – I’ve found a new site that I’m really excited about called Mix. Whether you’re a blogger looking for traffic, someone just looking for a cool new way to save fun stuff you learn about, or if you’re looking to discover new information, Mix is the way to go!
How to use Mix
Every once in a while I like to share my new discoveries for Social Media. Mix provided me with StumbleUpon ad credits, but all my opinions about their site are my own.
Not just for bloggers
Ok, this is a “how to” that’s not just for bloggers and content creators. Mix is for everyone. I just want to make sure that bloggers get in on site right away so they get all the benefits of the site.
How Content Creators Can Use Mix to Grow Your Blog
You’re a content creator and you work hard to get your stuff out there in front of people. People who will love what you’ve created. People who want to learn new stuff. People who want to cook yummy food. And, with so many of the social media sites making it more and more difficult to see your content, you’re looking for a new and easy to use place to share. Mix is it!
Mix is what I’d call a Social Bookmarking site. It’s a place to bookmark and categorize all of your blog posts, recipes, articles, and ideas, while sharing them with others who want to learn just like you do!
Mix from the creators of StumbleUpon
I’ve been using Mix for a little while now. It was recently launched from the creators of StumbleUpon, and it’s similar to Pinterest, in that it helps people find and share great content with an emphasis on visual appeal.
I think now is the time to get into Mix. It’s early, and as a content creator, you want to have your recipes, crafts, and posts seen early and often. Mix will give you that opportunity.
Mix Curator Incentive Program
I’m helping them get the word out. They want more people on Mix! People who will find new and fun stuff. People who will share the best that the Internet has to offer.
I’ve had fun doing some of the challenges.
Some of my boards that I created doing the challenges:
And, check out all my boards here.
How to sign up and use Mix (for everyone!)
Go to Mix.com and use the sign up button in the upper right using Facebook, Twitter or Google or download the iPhone app in the app store.
Enter the information for user name, email, etc… What are you interested in? Follow 5 or more topics so they can show you cool stuff you like. Follow and continue at the lower right.
Follow your friends and some new fun people. Follow and continue at the lower right.
And, you’re in!
Create a Mix
In the upper right corner you’ll see a +
Click on that.
Or, once there, you’ll also see a Chrome or Firefox extension. I recommend you add that to your browser! That allows you to add posts from any website with just one click! Simply click on the Install it now button.
Now, copy and paste a link into the box. Or click on the extension button.
Just choose the Mix to add it to, or create a new one. It’s like making a magazine all your own! Use fun names for your mixes, and add descriptions in the comments section.
Add a variety of sites (not just your own). Kind of like StumbleUpon encourages you to stumble other people’s stuff too, so does Mix. I’ve read they like about 20% your own content and 80% other sources.

Great post Debi – I’ve only been on Mix a short while but getting plenty
of traffic thru the curator program. Only problem so far is they don’t
tend to stick around as much as say Pinterest or Google traffic.

Followed you!
Now that Mix and StumbleUpon has merged what else can we get by joining the incentive program I’m very interested!
I think this might be my first time in joining a new social network if you can call it that and I’m hoping I can maximize it.
I blog about my experiences and advice people who might learn from them.
Most of my blog are my experiences and thoughts on design, marketing, career and life in general

Jemmarie, thanks for the follow. I’ll be following you back. If signed up for the curator program, you can continue to earn StumbleUpon credits via this program through June 4th, 2018. StumbleUpon Ad credits will be good until June 30th, 2018. We will continue to drive targeted traffic to your site via your StumbleUpon Ads campaigns through the end of June. – that info comes from Mix themselves. I think that Mix will be a great place to learn and hopefully see traffic to our sites!
They have also said, “We’re have a target release date of July 15th for the next round of the Curator Incentive Program based on requests and feedback from this group. Get ready for:

How is this different from Pinterest?
Debi
Ayush, though they are both visual platforms, the presentation is different, as is the way you add and look at content. Give them both a try and see.
Octavian Ambrosa
Saw many visits from Mix , but something I didn’t understand is who are theyy ? I mean what country are they from and other data
Debi
Octavian, Mix is from the creators of StumbleUpon. If you do some Googling, you can easily find lots of articles on the guy who started it all. There were a bunch of articles on him when he shut down StumbleUpon.
