A collection of my Paleo-friendly recipes.
The Paleo diet. You may have heard of it. Wikipedia defines the Paleo diet as, “The Paleolithic diet is a fad diet that considers “the environment of evolutionary adaptedness for our species and to view it as the shaper of the latest draft of our genome”. Proponents of the diet therefore recommend avoiding any food categories that were not available to humans at that time, such as refined sugar, processed grains, and processed oils.” I think of Paleo in simple terms as eat whole, non-processed foods that are high in protein like meat and avoid grains. And, like all diets, many people have their individual definitions. Some people won’t eat corn since it’s a grain, but some people view corn as a vegetable. So, there is some basis for individual interpretation.
I don’t follow the Paleo diet, as a vegetarian you can see that would be difficult. And besides, coffee isn’t supposed to be consumed if you follow the Paleo diet, and I couldn’t live without coffee. (hee hee)
But, I do eat lots of whole foods that fall within the Paleo-friendly category (I use Paleo-friendly as, like I said, there are different interpretations by different individuals). So, I thought I’d gather up some of my recipes that fall within the Paleo realm.
