Unprocessed October Day 10 – BBQ with friends
breakfast: vanilla yogurt with cherry plum jam
snack: string cheese
lunch: baked potato with green peas and sour cream
dinner: We went to a friend’s house for a BBQ, and I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of processed foods. They ate steaks, while I had a turk’y patty (the turk’y was slightly sweet, and it’s a taste that I think I’d have to get used to). We had baked potatoes with sour cream and chives, corn on the cob, salad, and steamed broccoli. There was so much food, and it was all really yummy. They also had some snacks out before we ate- Veggie Stix. Ok, they were processed snacks, and I tried them after reading the ingredients. Not a bad ingredient list. They were really tasty, and I would buy them to snack on at home (after this month is over).
dessert: After all that food what does a girl need, but dessert? So, I made a simple little cup of chocolate pudding when I came home. Really tasty, and it can be made from the ingredients in your cupboard (no, it’s not those little boxes of pudding). I think it’s the way our grandmas or our grandmas’ grandmas used to make pudding, except that I make it in the microwave to save time. The recipe will be in my cookbook.
