Here are some pictures of my vacation food. I didn’t take my camera out too often, so I don’t have too many shots. But, it was a wonderful trip!
We went to the Bayview Farmer’s Market. It was a stunningly beautiful market. One of my favorite parts of the market was that it had been raining earlier in the day, and was continuing to sprinkle lightly throughout the day. Yet, despite the inclement weather, the market was full of people. People looking; people buying; people with their dogs; people eating; people chatting and laughing. I loved being there. The selection of fruits, veggies, flowers, and prepared foods was amazing. I could have left with bags and bags of food. But, well, when I think about it, I did leave with bags and bags of food. Goat cheese, blue potatoes, three different colors of beets, new potatoes, Walla Walla onions, fresh garlic, chives, and carrots. All were fresh and delicious.
I also got to forage for some fruit. I went for a walk with my colander, and found lots of cool stuff to gather. There’s something about finding the fruit that makes it that much tastier.
We stopped for a bite to eat at the Prima Bistro. Their food is amazing. We ordered the chickpea puree (which I thought would be more like hummus, but looked and tasted like it may have had lots of carrots in it. YUM!). I also had a small plate dish of poached eggs on croutons with mushrooms and red wine sauce – super yum!
