BBQ Pulled Pork

Ingredients

  • pork shoulder I generally figure ½ to 1 pound per person depending on what else is being served
  • BBQ sauce about 1 bottle per 2 pounds of pork
  • Water
  • Olive oil
  • Small sesame seed buns

Instructions

  1. Heat a large Dutch oven over high heat (I did mine on the fifth burner of the grill outside so that I wouldn’t heat up the house). Add enough oil to coat the bottom with a thin layer. Add the pork, allowing to brown. Turn to brown all sides. Once pork has browned, place it in a large crockpot. Add BBQ sauce and enough water to cover the pork. Heat on low heat for about 8 hours. Once the pork is done, it should basically shred itself as you pull it apart with forks.
  2. Serve hot with toasted buns.
