Simmer 1/2 teaspoon chopped green onion, 1/2 teaspoon wakame or seaweed, and several small pieces of tofu in 1 cup of water or vegetable broth. Dissolve 2 teaspoons miso in a small amount of water in a separate dish. Remove the broth from the heat, and add the miso to the broth. Do not boil miso. Sip the miso soup from a mug or a cup.

Makes one serving I like white miso for its sweet flavor, but any miso will work.Also, if you don't have green onions, tofu, or seaweed, you can still make the miso soup, it just won't have the same flavor. But, it will still make your throat feel much better.
