Instructions
Preheat the air fryer to 380° F.
Cut off the top of the garlic bulb to expose the cloves on the inside. Place the garlic on a piece of parchment paper and aluminum foil. Bring the parchment paper and foil up and around garlic. You can skip the parchment paper lining if you prefer and just use the foil. I like the parchment paper liner to keep the foil from being in direct contact with the food. If you use parchment paper in the packets, make sure it doesn’t stick up and touch the heating element of the air fryer or it will burn.
Pour the oil on top of the cut cloves. Close ends of foil over garlic, creating a pouch.
Air fry in the preheated air fryer (on the air fry setting if you have one) for 25 minutes. Unplug the air fryer, and leave the garlic in the drawer for 5 to 10 minutes to cool.
Carefully remove the garlic using oven mitts or tongs. Open the foil pouch carefully, as the steam will be hot.
Peel the garlic or starting at the base of the garlic bulb, squeeze out the cloves.
Notes
Use any kind of garlic. Or multiple kinds, even multiple heads of garlic. For best results, use oils with a high smoke point like avocado oil, grapeseed oil, or refined olive oil because they can withstand high temperatures.Garlic can also be peeled completely before cooking and placed directly in the pouch. Roasted garlic can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. For longer storage, remove the roasted garlic from the skins, and place in a ziptop bag in the freezer for up to 6 months.Nutrition analysis is for the whole recipe
