This baked Pierogi Casserole recipe is a super easy weeknight meal. Made with convenient frozen pierogi, sausage, and a creamy cheese sauce, this dish is the ultimate comfort food.
Preheat oven to 375° F. Spray 12x8-inch (2-quart) baking dish with cooking spray.
Place frozen pierogies, broccoli, and water in medium microwave-safe bowl and cover. I like to cover the bowl with a microwaveable plate. Microwave on High 2 minutes; stir. Continue microwaving on High 1 & ½ to 2 minutes until thawed. Place pierogies and broccoli evenly in casserole dish. Leaving water behind in the bowl. Top with sausage.
In medium bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, broth, dried onion, and pepper together. Stir in ½ cup of the cheddar cheese.
4 ounces cream cheese, ½ cup sour cream, ½ cup low sodium vegetable broth, 1/8 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper, 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
Pour cream cheese mixture evenly over pierogies. Cover with foil; bake 22 to 27 minutes or until center is heated through.
Uncover, and top with remaining cheese; bake 3 to 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Notes
If you don’t want to thaw the pierogi in the microwave first, simply place the frozen pierogi in the dish, follow the recipe card, then cover with aluminum foil and bake for a total of about 30-35 minutes. Then sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the top and bake uncovered for 10 minutes.
