Super easy and so refreshing. This vibrant emerald green iced blended Matcha Mojito mocktail is the drink of summertime! It has a simple blend of matcha green tea, lime, and mint.

Matcha’s rich earthy flavor pairs so well with the fresh bright mint that it becomes almost effervescent in a drink that you’ll want to keep around all summer long. And try my latest latte, the Ube Latte, with its beautiful purple color!

You guys know I love all things mint! Check out my post all about fresh mint for tips, varieties, how to use it, and more great suff.

And the mojito is my drink of choice (of course, I always order them without alcohol now). I’ve been playing around with different flavors of mojitos this summer. This particular mocktail recipe was inspired by a matcha mojito I got at a local coffee shop. You can check out my Insta post about it.

This is so good! You have to try it!

Matcha

There are different kinds of matcha, and you should use your favorite.

For this recipe I used matcha from Trader Joe’s. They sell it in little single serving packets, which makes it super easy to measure out. I used 2 packets or .11 ounces of matcha, which measures out to 1 & 1/2 teaspoons of matcha powder.

Do I have to brew the matcha first?

No, you don’t have to brew the matcha first for this recipe. Like I said, super easy to make! Just pour the match into the blender with the rest of the ingredients. Because it’s blended it’ll incorporate into the drink.

Can I use a different sugar?

Yes, you can use your sweetener of choice.

I like the deep rich flavor of the dark brown sugar here, but you could use turbinado sugar, palm sugar, demerara sugar, light brown sugar, honey, maple syrup, or any sugar substitute you like.

And, adjust sweetness to your preference by adding more or less sugar. The recipe makes a very lightly sweet drink with most of the flavor coming from the matcha and the mint.

Can I make it a cocktail?

If you want to add some rum or vodka to make it a cocktail, feel free. Add a splash to the blender along with the rest of the ingredients, and blend it all together.

Can matcha be mixed with alcohol?

But can matcha be mixed with alcohol? Yes, it makes a delicious cocktail that’s simple and easy to enjoy.
