Lavender Lemonade

My lavender lemonade recipe uses my lavender simple syrup so that it’s simple and easy to make this deliciously refreshing lemonade.

It’s a cooling drink on a hot day, and it’s made with fresh simple ingredients.

What does lavender taste like?

Lavender has a wonderful light flavor.

To me, it comes across as woodsy, outdoorsy, or floral. Some people also describe it as a floral, pungent aroma and flavor. Sometimes with a mint flavor (though that’s not how I would describe it).

It’s often paired with lemon, so it tends toward the citrus flavors. I think it’s warm and welcoming.

Benefits of lavender

I’ve read that Lavender Lemonade can help to get rid of headaches and anxiety.

Some other benefits:

Lavender may help you sleep better. It promotes hair growth, can assist in wound healing, and is also reported to have other benefits.

It’s interesting to me to read about these types of benefits. Take a look at Google for more information on benefits of lavender.

Can I make this to suit my tastes?

Yes, of course!

Like your lemonade a little sweeter? Add a little more lavender simple syrup.

Like it a little more on the tart sides? Add a little more lemon juice.

I grow Meyer lemons in my garden, so that’s what I used for my Lavender Lemonade. Meyer lemons are sweeter, or less tart, than regular lemons. So my version may be a little sweeter than if you buy lemons from the grocery store.

The balance of sweetness to lemon will depend on what types of lemons you use, as well as your own preference for sweetness. Feel free to make it your favorite summer sipper.

Want to make this a sparkling lemonade?

You can easily make this Lavender Lemonade into a sparkling lavender lemonade by topping it off with sparkling water or club soda.

Want to make it a cocktail?

There are many flavors that will go well in this lemonade.

Gin will add lovely floral flavors.

Champagne will make a fun bubbly effervescent drink, which will be great to serve at a Mother’s Day brunch.

Just add in a bit of vodka for an alcohol that won’t change the flavor much.

Something citrusy like limoncello would up the lemon flavors.

Manual Metal Citrus Squeezer/Juicer

This is my favorite juicer. I use mine all the time!

Get every last drop from your fruit. This squeezer works well for limes or lemons. I also cup up my oranges and place them in the large side to juice them.

This sturdy heavy-duty manual juicer is made with industrial aluminum and non-toxic certified lead-free coating, it is safe and reliable. And, it’s dishwasher safe.
