Blue Cheese Sauce to top off Broccoli Week on the blog! Well, I had to bring you something extra tasty because my husband kept saying that Broccoli week was far too healthy! Last week I brought you two great new Broccoli recipes: Grilled Garlicky Broccoli and Caramelized Broccoli.
If you like Blue Cheese, you’ll love this sauce! It’s rich and creamy without being too heavy. Just the right balance of flavors. If you’re like me, you’d be inclined to just leave that little teaspoon of oil out of the recipe. I highly recommend you use it in this! It just rounds out the sauce and makes it a little extra creamy! So, go ahead, it’s fine to use it!
This Blue Cheese Sauce can either be poured directly over whatever you’re serving, think veggies like broccoli and carrots, baked potatoes, steak, burgers. Or, this Blue Cheese Sauce can be served as a dipping sauce on the side, try it with fresh veggies, crackers, or bread. Either way, you’ll be really happy with it.
Cambozola Triple Cream Soft Ripened Blue Cheese
I love blue cheese, but I definitely have my favorite kind. I get this Cambozola Triple Cream Soft Ripened Blue Cheese at Trader Joe’s. It’s a really nice creamy blue cheese that isn’t too harsh. I know some blue cheeses can be really overwhelming and pungent, even to the point that you don’t want to eat them. So, I recommend that you go with your favorite blue cheese, or if you can find this kind, do give it a go. I love it!
Blue Cheese Sauce Recipe
Blue Cheese Sauce
Ingredients
- 4 ounces cream cheese cut into small pieces
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 4 ounces blue cheese cut into small pieces
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives plus additional for garnishing
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
Instructions
- Place the cream cheese pieces and milk in a small saucepan set over medium-high heat. Stir until cream cheese is almost all melted. Stir in the blue cheese, and continue stirring over medium-high heat until everything is almost melted all the way through. Remove from heat, and continue to stir until the sauce is smooth and lump free. Stir in the chopped chives, garlic powder, and oil.
- Pour over veggies, baked potatoes, steak, or whatever makes you happy. Or, pour into a small dish to serve as a dipping sauce. Garnish with additional chopped chives or freshly ground black pepper.

I can imagine myself putting this ontop of absolutely everything!! It looks dangerously delicious! π I’m going to keep an eye out for the triple cream blue cheese too – I think I might like it more than regular blue cheese (I like that it’s creamier than the regular!)
Beth @ Binky's Culinary Carnival
That looks awesome! Probably would be great with chicken wings too, right?
