Gourmet S’mores are easy to make

I’m a big fan of s’mores!

I even have a Pinterest board dedicated to S’mores!

I’ve experimented a lot with different cookies, chocolates, and additional fillings. And, I believe that I can confidently share, the best Gourmet S’mores ever!

I have lots of how to make tips, tricks, and more ways to s’more! If you’re looking for variations, you’ve come to the right place.

S’mores are a DIY kid favorite for dessert, and there are endless ways to make them. Some are no campfire required.

At the bottom of the post I have my favorite printable recipe for this delicious and fun gourmet dessert treat.

the classic s'more with graham crackers, Hershey's milk chocolate, and toasted marshmallow on a white background

Classic campfire version

This is the version we all grew up with. It’s easy, perfect for camping, or beach fire pits, and nostalgic. It’s perfectly summer.

Place a marshmallow on a long stick, and roast it over the campfire. Add half of a Hershey’s milk chocolate bar on half of a graham cracker.

Place the roasted marshmallow in the middle, and top with the other half of the graham cracker. Press together.

And if you’re feeling adventurous and want to make something really special and gourmet, be sure to try my Peppermint S’mores with homemade chocolate graham crackers and homemade peppermint marshmallows.

Lots of different variations on s'mores are possible and delicious 5 s'mores are in this picture with different cookies and crackers as their base

Grill or BBQ

Preheat grill to medium-high.

Lightly wrap built s’mores in aluminum foil, and place on grill grates. Heat for about 5 minutes, or until the marshmallows are melted and gooey.

You can also do a whole tray of s’mores on the grill. Check out my recipe here on how to make s’mores for a crowd.

Grills are also great to use just like a campfire. Place a marshmallow on a long stick, and roast it over the grill, or over the hot coals of a BBQ.

Indoor oven baked

A toaster oven would be a great size for some small s’mores.

But if you only have a big oven (like me), that works too.

Build a s’more without the top graham cracker, and place it on a baking sheet or cookie tray.

Bake in a preheated 350° F oven until the marshmallow begins to toast and turn golden in color. Remove from the oven, and top the s’more with the other half of the cracker.

Of course, you can get fancy with them by making them into a smore pie or s’mores bars.

Indoor gas stove top

Place a marshmallow on a long stick, and roast it over medium high heat of a gas stove top.

Make a twist on the classic s’mores by making stove top s’mores rice krispie treats.

I found this really cool indoor electric s’mores maker for roasting marshmallows on Amazon.

Microwave

You can make s’mores in your kitchen in less than 5 minutes using your microwave, and this method requires no special long-handled sticks or skewers!

Build your s’more without the top half graham cracker.

Place built s’mores on a microwave safe plate, and microwave for about 10-15 seconds, or until the marshmallow is soft. Top with the other half of the graham cracker, and press together.

Make a S’mores party station tray

I love the idea of having a party station, or a tray to serve all of your guests for a s’mores bar.

Here are some ideas to help entertain your guests and display your s’mores bar.

I found this beautiful S’mores tray on Etsy. Whether you’re having a beach party or a camping trip, or a wedding, a s’mores bar is a fun way to go.

And this wooden sign would be a fun way to help your guests.

Make sure to gather up all your supplies:

Jumbo marshmallows

Color changing marshmallows

Or go fancy and use gourmet marshmallows. And, don’t these bourbon marshmallows sound amazing

Hershey’s milk chocolate or Ghirardelli dark chocolate squares

Graham crackers, Carr’s whole wheat crackers, Chocolate Chip Biscuits, or ginger snap cookies or a variety of cookies and crackers

Sticks

Skewers

And, you might want some napkins as s’mores can get messy

Year-round treats

And, don’t forget that s’mores are great year round.

Sit by the fire in the living room in the middle of a cold winter evening making s’mores in the fireplace. Serve them along with a delicious cup of hot chocolate, maybe with a toasted marshmallow on top!

I was at a conference a couple of months ago and they set out s’mores on the dessert buffet with small flames for people toasting. I can’t recall the last time I had s’mores, but they were a hit with everyone there. What a perfect summer treat, too!

My family loves camping, but, not me! I am not the ourdoorsy type of person, so, I had to be cajoled and bribed into going camping with them. S’Mores have always been the best way to get me to go camping! I am taking your gourment s’mores recipe with me next time we go camping. Love those images of yours too.

We have an outdoor fire pit that is fun to make s’mores on, but I love the indoor options too! My dear girlfriend is visiting this weekend and you’ve inspired me to make a s’more tray gourmet-style! p.s. I may have time to purchase the exact tray. Fingers crossed!
