Please let me know if you have any questions about this recipe. I read all the comments myself and I try to help as soon as I can. I have readers from all levels of comfort and experience in the kitchen on my site, and I’ve tried to answer some of your questions already in the post. But if I’ve missed anything, please feel free to leave a comment and ask.
How to brew the coffee
Use your favorite brewing method. French press, cold brew, drip, pour over, even espresso. Your choice, you just want to make sure it’s nice and strong.
My favorite brewing method is the drip coffee maker. It makes a nice strong pot of coffee with lots to drink. I make a special house blend using different roasts and combine them in a large coffee canister.
Brew the coffee, turn off the heat as soon as it’s done brewing, and let it cool on the counter. Once it’s room temperature, pop it in the fridge. Once it’s nice and cold, it’s ready to use in this coffee drink, a mint mojito coffee or just to drink black.
Lavender
Lavender is having its moment right now. It’s the “it” girl. Lavender has a delicious warm welcoming floral flavor that goes so well with coffee.
Making this drink at home (and skipping the Starbucks run) is a great way to save money.
I’ve shared lots of great lavender recipes over the years.
What is a lavender latte made of?
All you’ll need for a great lavender latte is coffee, cream, sweetener, and lavender flavoring. And this recipe is super easy to make because you don’t have to make your own lavender simple syrup and wait for it to cool down to be able to use it.
I use lavender extract in this coffee drink. Most of the recipes you find on line will have lavender simple syrup. And that’s good too, but the extract makes it something really special!
Can I use lavender simple syrup?
Yes, if you have some lavender simple syrup, you’ll want to add about 1 tablespoon of the syrup to the cup, and leave out the brown sugar. Add more or less syrup depending on the level of sweetness you like in your coffee.
What does lavender taste like in coffee?
Like I said earlier, lavender and lavender in coffee drinks have been super popular lately. And, I’m a big fan of them! Lavender adds its sweet warm flavor to the coffee. And the floral fragrance makes the coffee irresistible.

How to make
Not only is this iced lavender coffee recipe made with just a few simple ingredients, but it only takes a few minutes to make one.
The full printable recipe ingredients and instructions are available in the recipe card at the bottom of the post. You can find important tips and tricks in the post.
Gather up all the ingredients.
Add brown sugar to a glass.
One of the benefits to making these at home is that you can control the amount of sweetness in your drink. I usually like these with 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, but sometimes you just want it a bit sweeter.
Add just a bit of boiling water to the brown sugar and stir to dissolve.
Pour in the coffee and extract and stir to make sure the sugar mixes in well.
Add the ice to almost the top of the glass.
Shake the heavy cream in the container, a mason jar, or a cocktail shaker vigorously for about 10 seconds to get it nice and foamy.
Add cold foam cream into the glass, stir until blended. Want to read more about How to Make Cold Foam; be sure to check out all the details in my post on the creamy concoction.
You can also make it “upside down” and add the cream first, then the coffee and ice so that it stirs itself a bit as you add the coffee.
Changes to the recipe
Once you get the hang of this recipe, there are lots of swaps and substitutions you can make. Here are some ideas:
- Sweetener: use any sweetener you like – honey for a honey lavender latte, maple syrup, or use a sugar substitute like Splenda, monk fruit, stevia, or xylitol. And, use more or less of it as you like.
- Milk: Swap out the cream for any plant-based or dairy milk that you prefer. Try oat milk, almond, coconut, or soy milk. Plant based creamers are also nice and thick and will work well here. Many milks will froth really well.
- Coffee: use your favorite brewing method. You could even try using brewed tea for a lavender tea latte.
- Add vanilla: Add a dash of vanilla extract to make a vanilla lavender latte. Or, use vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste instead of the lavender extract for an iced vanilla latte.
- Lavender matcha latte: Swap coffee for matcha; you can even add a bit of coffee to the matcha as well.
