How to air fry frozen pierogies
When you air fry pierogi, you get a crisp texture outside while the filling inside remains soft. They remind me of my Air Fryer Tortellini as well.
The full printable recipe ingredients and instructions are available in the recipe card at the bottom of the post. You can find important tips and tricks in the post.
Preheat the air fryer. Grab your package of pierogi. Any flavor will be great.
And if the brand you get is a little more or a little less, it should be fine. Just don’t crowd the air fryer. You want them in more or less a single layer at the bottom of the basket.

Nope, you don’t need to boil or thaw the frozen perogi! Pop them in straight from the freezer for the best texture.
Cooking
Just one simple step of tossing the pierogies with oil, then into the air fryer!
Frozen pierogi are already fully cooked, so all you need to do is heat them through.
Adjust the cooking time as necessary. Cooking times can vary with different makes and models of air fryers, as well as different brands of pierogies, or if you use homemade pierogies. Or even if you like yours crispier.
Be sure to check for your desired amount of doneness on the earlier side of the cooking times.
Note on the oil
I’ve had some readers ask about using oil in an air fryer. Their question is that “isn’t the air fryer supposed to cook without any oil?”
Yes, it can cook without any oil, but the crispiness and browning you get from adding even just a small amount of oil is great. So, I highly recommend you add the oil.
And feel free to use your favorite oil. I’ve called for olive oil in the recipe. But avocado oil will be great as well.
Serving suggestions
Serve these finger foods with a dipping sauce. In the pictures I’ve made ranch dip. I think these would be equally awesome with Onion Soup Mix Dip or Caramelized onion dip.
You might also like pierogies with marinara sauce or Hickory smoke BBQ sauce or ketchup.
These fun snacks would make a great dinner with some kielbasa, burgers, or chicken.
And if you love pierogi as much as I do, you’ll have to try this crockpot pierogi casserole!
Storage and reheating
Store cooked pierogies in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge. They can be frozen for longer storage, up to 3 months in an airtight container in the freezer.
Reheat leftovers in the air fryer for 3-4 minutes until they’re hot.
